According to foreign media reports, Syracuse officials in New York have approved the cost of the new LED street lamp.
The snow City Council unanimously approved a loan of $38 million for major repairs. Officials say $15 million will be spent on new LED lights and the rest will be spent on maintenance and other services.
Officials say LED lights will help snow cities save about $3 million a year and reduce greenhouse gases.
Mayor Ben Walsh said the project is a "very good investment" for snow city taxpayers.
Because LED bulbs have the advantages of reducing energy consumption, relatively low maintenance frequency, and long service life, in recent years, many cities in the United States have been pushing forward plans to convert high-voltage nanolamps, mercury lamps and other traditional bulbs into LED bulbs.
